Knife Making Experiences

Learn the art of bladesmithing at our shop using our equipment with our Introduction to Bladesmithing class! This hands-on beginner-level class introduces students to the craft of creating custom knives with expert guidance in a professional shop environment.

In this class students will learn:

    • How to operate a 2x72 belt grinder

    • How to cut primary bevels

    • How to attach, shape, and finish a knife handle

    • How to sharpen your new blade using professional sharpening equipment. 

This class typically lasts up to 6 hours with scheduled breaks. All classes are semi-private with only 2 slots available per class.

Are you already interested in Bladesmithing? Have you already started a project or two? Are you interested in honing your skills and learning tips and tricks along the way? If so, maybe a private lesson is right for you! Bring your own knife project and use our shop and equipment with expert guidance in a professional environment to take your skills and project to the next level!

You will have supervised access to our shop, tools, and equipment, including:

    • 2x72 belt grinder

    • Heat treat oven

    • Drill press

    • Arbor press

    • Sharpening equipment

    • Hand and Power tools, etc 

Learn the art of forging at our shop using our equipment with our Introduction to Forging class! This hands-on intermediate-level class introduces students to the craft of forging with expert guidance in a professional shop environment.

In this class students will learn:

    • How to forge a blade

    •.How to heat treat your blade

    • How to operate a 2x72 belt grinder

    • How to cut primary bevels

    • How to make a leather sheath

    • How to sharpen your new blade using professional sharpening equipment. 

This experience typically last two full days in which the students will learn to craft knife and sheath from scratch and take their project home with them when they’re done.
